FIXIN
The charming small town of FIXIN (locally pronounced « Fissin ») is located in the Côte de Nuits between Marsannay-La-Côte and Gevrey-Chambertin.
The appellation, officially recognized as an AOC since 1936, is divided into Villages and Premiers Crus.
The production municipalities are Fixin and Brochon.
It is a tiny vineyard that barely counts 102 hectares in production : 96 Ha for the red wines (Pinot Noir variety) and just 6 Ha for the white wines (Chardonnay).
Six climats are classified as Premier Cru : Arvelets, Clos de la Perrière, Clos du Chapitre, Clos Napoléon, Hervelets, Le Meix Bas.

Richness of the terroirs
Exposed to the East and the South-East, the soils are brown limestone and homogenous in the Premier Crus between 350 and 380 meters in altitude.
More marly nuances appear in certain areas (Les Hervelets for example).
The other lines are on the piedmont, with a limestone and marl complex.
